APA Achievements
  •  Organized more than 3000 Afghans around the world and inside Afghanistan as  members, and growing...
  •  Published Voice of Peace, a monthly publication for 9 consecutive years. The  Voice of Peace publishes articles in Dari, Pashto, and English.
  •  Established APA offices in North America, Europe, South and Central Asia.
  •  Convened many APA conferences and community meetings.
  •  Founded and originally sponsored Afghan Communicator: Voice of the Young  Generation, a bimonthly scholarly English magazine. Afghan Communicator is now  an independent publication.
  •  Organized, sponsored and celebrated Afghanistan Independence Day since 1996,  in New York, California, the Netherland, and Germany as means of national  pride,  unity, and reconsiliation, in which thousands of Afghans participate. This day  is  being celebrated for 2 days by popular demand. It has now become a tradition in  New York.
  •  Organized and sponsored sports tournaments in New York, New Jersey, Virginia,  and California for cultural and recreational purposes. These events are being  sponsored by the APA each year.
  •  Donated $1000 to the Afghan school in New York.
  •  Sponsored and helped organize the first Intra-Afghan Intercontinental  Conference in Search of Peace in  NY, 1996.
  •  Proposed the APA Peace Plan in 1998 to the Hamburg Conference in Germany.
  •  Raised funds for orphaned children in 1991.
  •  Established and orphanage inside Afghanistan, in Khost, Paktia province in 1997.
  •  Broadcasted six 1/2 hour cultural television shows to the Afghan community in New  York in 1990.
  •  Assisted the establishment of the Afghan Radio from 1992 to 1993, in New York.
  •  Sent medical supplies to earthquake victims in Afghanistan in 1998, valued at over $24,000 through Response International.
  •  Provided $3000 for scholarship contestans to three female Afghan students in the  United States in 1997. APA is currently considering establishing a new scholarship  for outstanding male and female students in the United States.
  •  Participated in peace and development conferences convened in various US and  European Institutions.
  •  Established Maihan High School with a capacity for 300 Afghan refugee children in  Peshawar,  Pakistan, 1999.
  •  Financed drilling of a deep water well in Loghar province in 1999.
  •  Organized peaceful demonstrations in th Netherlands to protect the rights of the  Afghan Refugees.
  •  Held talks with national and international political organizations and personalities on  Afghanistan.
  •  Convened a symposium on Peace and Development in Afghanistan at the UN church center.
  •  Consulted various Afghan organizations on how to structure their organizations and  organize events and activities to meet the needs of the Afghans in the post-conflict  Afghanistan.
  •  APA became a member of the CONGO (Conference of NGO's) at the United Nations.
  •  Organized the first Rally Against Terror demonstration on October 6, 2000 in which 17  different Afghan organizations participated.
  •  Developed and maintained APA website since 1999.
  •  Convened 3 successful APA Grand Peace Assemblies
  •  Created APA Women's Organization in Europe and New York.
  •  Distributed 10,000 APA Goals and Principles Booklets.
  •  Gave various interviews to US and European media outlets.
  •  Attended conference in Perogia, Italy on the reconstruction of the Afghan  Educational System January 14-16, 2002.
  •  In March of 2002, the APA launched a petition on the internet in defense of The Human Rights of the Afghan Refugees of Australia, which was signed by more than 550 organizations and individuals. See text here.
  •   In June of 2002 the APA became a founding member of The Nations of New York
  •  June 2, 2002, the APA sponsored and organized The Conference of Afghan Organizations of New York in Support of the Emergency Loya Jirga. in which 16 Afghan organizations came together to support one cause.

  •  Growing deeper inside Afghanistan.
  •  More town meetings towards creation of a political alternative.
